Blood test

In the beginning of pregnancy, your blood will be tested for:

  • Blood type, Rhesus factor and irregular antibodies
  • Lues (a sexually transmitted disease), hepatitis B (a liver infection) and H.I.V. antibodies (an A.I.D.S.test)
  • Hemoglobin level (anemia) and sometimes glucose (blood sugar).

If you object to this test, please let us know before you have the blood test .

Around 28 weeks we repeat the blood test for:

  • Hemoglobin level (anemia) and sometimes glucose (blood sugar).
  • If you have a negative Rhesus factor, we will check the rhesus factor of the baby and your blood wil be checked on irregular antibodies.

If you have registered for “Zwangeren Portaal”, you can see the results of your blood test in your medical file. Of course we will contact you if there is a result that needs treatment.
